Exhibition in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Teruko Yokoi's birth
”Teruko Yokoi: Her Trajectories and World”

Tsushima City Cultural Hall, Small Hall

Teruko Yokoi, a Swiss-based painter who was active in the USA and Europe. This year marks the centenary of her birth. During her lifetime, she held more than 90 solo exhibitions and produced many boldly composed and richly colored works, ranging from figurative to abstract expression, using a variety of techniques such as Egg tempera, Oil and Watercolor. This exhibition introduces her footprints and world of expression in Tsushima, where she spent her youth.

1st term: Theme ”The Trajectories”  October 31 to November 4, 2024
2nd term: Theme ”The World” November 6 to  November 10, 2024
Hours: from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Please note that the exhibition will be closed on November 5 due to a change of works.

Gallery Talk
A curator from the Teruko Yokoi Hinageshi Art Museum will give a gallery talk. If you wish to attend, please arrive at the venue by the time of the talk.

Capacity: approx. 20 people

Film screening of the film ”Teruko Yokoi-Art in the Making”
A screening of a film about Teruko Yokoi and commentary by the film’s creator will be held (screening time: 50 minutes, commentary: 30 minutes).
If you wish to watch the film, please arrive at the venue before the screening time.
